1658: Aurangzeb captured the Agra Fort.

1978: The Karakoram Highway opened today. It is known as the highest paved international road in the world and                 connects China and Pakistan. The 1,300 km highway is named “Karakoram” as it passes through the                               Karakoram mountain range.
1991: Congress became the largest party in Lok Sabha despite having no absolute majority.
1993: Hindutva was sworn on this day by the 14th national council of BJP in Bangalore.
1997: Prakash Padukone launched Indian Badminton Confederation (IBC).
